WeFi Predictive Analytics Solving Problems in Wireless Before They Happen

Issues within the mobile landscape are leaving industry players frantic. Early approaches to managing spectrum were flawed by failure to plan for rapid technology innovation, and the enormous spike in demand that follows. Carriers, providers, and government officials are quick to propose different solutions, but are similarly lacking critical foresight. In 2006 however, leading mobile data intelligence and network offloading company, WeFi, was ahead in patenting solutions to these problems that blind-sided the marketplace.
WeFi anticipated the direction the industry was taking, and understood the key to managing it would require leveraging current infrastructure in a new way. The challenge was to create a solution that will promote quality of experience for users while also protecting business goals for carriers and operators. In 2007, WeFi was awarded two patents that solved the current strains of the wireless ecosystem. These patents are solutions to the specific problem operators face today in struggling to provide constant connectivity with limited resources available to do so.
Years of experience in the wireless technology space made us realize that this promising momentum behind the industry also has the potential to destroy it, said Shimon Scherzer, Co-founder and CTO, WeFi. This created a need in the market for a solution that we developed ourselves by simply using the massive amounts of bandwidth from resources that werent being used.
At the core, WeFis services draw from public data that give insight to Wi-Fi locations and performance. WeFi created an additional source through a socially curated platform for people to log and track their experience on a specific network, helping to verify initial data. Over time, this database grew into a robust map of curated hotspots and cell networks. These two sources together give the insight needed to access the millions of underutilized networks across the world, and ensure credibility of each network connection.
There was still a problem of unidentified networks. In 2008, WeFi sought another patent that would focus on discovering as much detail as possible on networks coming from an unknown source. They did this through triangulation-- by measuring fixed points of other known networks, WeFi could manage to discover the location and add a relief point for mobile networks.
Since the beginning, WeFi has delivered precise predictions on todays mobile marketplace and continues to solve for future problems. Now with massive amounts of data and insight into the user experience, WeFi has developed the crucial formula to further their learning technology thats agile enough to predict future circumstances, and ensure the best mobile broadband experience is delivered every time.
