Jac Dalton Completes "Icarus" at Ardent in Memphis

Australian Rocker Enlists Producers Gregg Brown and Darren Mullen

November 30, 2009 -- DMN Newswire--2009-11-30--Australian rocker and American expatriate Jac Dalton returned to Memphis and Ardent Studios to overdub, edit and mix his new album, "Icarus."  The project was produced by Gregg Brown and Grammy-winner Darren Mullen, with Grammy-winning engineer John Hampton at the console.

Gregg Brown and John Hampton have worked together with many top artists, including Waylon Jennings, Travis Tritt, Tammy Wynette, and Marty Stuart, among others.  Brown says he chose Ardent because "It's where I've done my best work." Jac Dalton added, "The studio is absolutely magnificent; it's beautiful, it's professional, it just wreaks of history. Walking around looking at the album covers on the walls is completely humbling."

Following the worldwide success of Dalton's debut "From Both Sides," the new "Icarus" marks a significant advance in Dalton's sound and style. The Southern gentleman from down under has distilled a blend of melodic rock that pays homage to the classics and Australia while expanding on his established musical presence.  From the towering vocals, blazing guitars and uplifting vision of the title track "Icarus," to the anthemic "State Of Rock," the groove-laden riffs of "Waterline" and the bone-crunching "Suck, Bang, Blow," the new album offers up a sound and performance that resonates across borders and generations.
