FDAAdvisoryCommittee.com to Webcast the FDA AdComm Meeting on the Use of Internet & Social Media, November 12th & 13th, via TalkPoint

November 03, 2009 --

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/03/09 -- TalkPoint, the leading provider of Webcasting and Internet Broadcasting, and FDAAdvisoryCommittee.com, the leading webcast and DVD source for FDA Advisory Committee Meetings, today announced that TalkPoint will be powering the FDA Advisory Committee Meeting on the Promotion of FDA-Regulated Medical Products Using the Internet and Social Media Tools scheduled for November 12th and 13th.

FDAAdvisoryCommittee.com has used TalkPoint exclusively as its Webcast provider for nearly a decade. "Due to heightened public interest in this meeting, TalkPoint is prepared for FDAAC.com to have a considerably large audience," said Nicholas Balletta, CEO of TalkPoint. "Our technology is built to scale and this allows FDAAC.com to have every confidence in our ability to handle their significant turnout."

The two-day meeting is a public hearing for the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER), Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), and Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH). The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the topic of promoting FDA-regulated medical products via the Internet and social media. These products include prescription drugs for humans and animals, prescription biologics, and medical devices.

The meeting has already generated a significant amount of interest from the public, as many feel that more specific regulation from the FDA is long overdue and essential for ensuring that information on the internet regarding prescription drugs is non-misleading.

FDA Advisory Committee will be broadcasting the event live, powered by TalkPoint technology, on November 12th and 13th beginning at 8 am ET. Visit FDAAC.com to view the webcast.
