TIE Technologies Signs Teaming Agreement With Informatica

November 03, 2009 --

NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- TIE Technologies, Inc. (Pink Sheets:TTCS), a leading developer of advanced communication technologies designed to improve connectivity, productivity, and communication, today announced it has signed a Teaming Agreement with Informatica's Complex Event Processing (CEP) business unit, formerly Agent Logic.

TIE Technologies and Informatica have now commenced the design and configuration for Informatica RulePoint software to be incorporated into TIE's ACUMEN architecture. Solutions built on the ACUMEN architecture deliver improved situational awareness by automating data correlation, dissemination, and anomaly detection processes. They also enable inter-agency information sharing for critical infrastructure protection and assist in coordinating risk, security and emergency operations for localized or larger scale incidents.

One of the first results of bringing these cutting edge technologies together will be the roll out of a new integrated Airport security and safety system solution. This technology agnostic platform will incorporate various sensor and communications technologies from TIE as well as other third party providers.

Complex Event Processing enables enterprises to rapidly detect, correlate, analyze and respond to data-driven events. CEP software is one of the fastest growing IT categories, and is estimated by industry analyst group IDC to grow by a compound annual growth rate of 55% from 2008 to 2012.

Informatica, the number one independent provider of data integration software, acquired Agent Logic, a leader in CEP in September 2009. Informatica CEP technology distinguishes itself by its simplicity, versatility and integrated alerting capability. RulePoint enables business users within the organization to create user-defined rules that find actionable intelligence on their behalf, by monitoring available data sources such as message queues, databases, telemetry feeds and control systems.

Graham Mew, TIE Technologies, Executive Vice President commented, "TIE's ACUMEN architecture is designed to meet the current need for smart systems that require event-based intelligence. The incorporation of Informatica Complex Event Processing provides the ability to correlate, analyze and understand a more diverse set of data in order to more accurately detect and respond to real-time events. Together we look forward to meeting and exceeding the expectations of an exciting new universe of customers."
