Kontent's Sam Green On Target With Toy Stories

San Francisco-based Kontent Films' Sam Green directs a holiday-spirited 2:15 Target-branded content web film, for Real Girls Media website DivineCaroline.com. Nominated for an Academy Award for his original documentary work, Green features real kids talking about their favorite toys and enjoying the spontaneous simple pleasures of play.
The branded film is Real Girl Media's fourth collaboration with Kontent: Green earlier this year directed branded videos for ConAgra, featuring celebrated chef Jamie Lauren (of Absinthe, San Francisco, and currently appearing on Bravo's "Top Chef"); other branded work for DivineCaroline includes director David Munro's Sears-branded short and Eric Escobar-directed videos for Biore.
ABOUT KONTENT
Kontent is the happy accident of five non-traditional directors joining forces just as advertising moves to embrace non-traditional content. We write and direct our own films - shorts, features, web serials - and do the same for brands venturing beyond the :30/:60 paradigm. (Though we do those, too.) Our personal work has won Sundance awards and Oscars noms. Our commercial work, Clios, Addys, and One Shows.
We're nimble, streamlined, and multi-tooled - per the moment. And we're indie so we know how to work twice as creatively with half the line items. We've done stuff for bra fitters and Brad Pitt. It's all storytelling to us. We just want to make cool films. We live in San Francisco, so we're a little different. You're more likely to find us at a movie theater in the Mission than watching ad reels. Probably why we connect so well with people who tend to disconnect from advertising.
