Quova Introduces IP Geolocation Web Service

Quova On-Demand Enables Easy Building of Localization Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/10/08 -- Quova, Inc., the leading provider of Internet geolocation data, today introduced Quova On-Demand, a Web service that enables online businesses to easily integrate Quova's IP geolocation data directly into their Web applications. The SOAP-based Web service allows online businesses to quickly write geolocation-based business rules that dictate actions such as displaying local store locations or weather. Or, to check for identity theft or fraud in an online transaction, an e-merchant might create a rule to automatically compare the IP address location of the user to their credit card billing address location. A mismatch, such as the user logging from a different country, could be an indicator of potential fraud.

Quova provides geolocation data by analyzing a visitor's IP address, instantly identifying their geographical location, often down to the city level. Online businesses, E-retailers, ad networks, banks and government agencies integrate geolocation data into their Web applications to geotarget their advertising and content, detect identify theft and card-not-present fraud, manage digital content distribution, comply with local laws and more.
