IBC 2014: Rohde & Schwarz DVS offers innovative functions for live production with R&S VENICE
August 28, 2014 --
The optional VENICE Play GUI is also available now. It is tailored specifically to the needs of studio playout, giving users quick access to all key functions even in hectic production operation such as during live shows and news broadcasts. Thanks to its clear and simultaneous display of multiple channels users can keep a parallel overview of channels for primary playout in an A/B layout as well as auxiliary channels for secondary playout ? they can also control them reliably even under frantic live situations. As the usable VENICE channels are recognized automatically within the network, this makes configuration easy and straightforward even under ever-changing production conditions. Furthermore, as part of the latest redundancy solution offered by R&S VENICE the new studio playout GUI can be mirrored on multiple clients.
Users can also further enhance the efficiency of their workflows by combining VENICE Play and the integrated R&S Spycer content control software. This allows them to create a transparent network and in doing so conveniently browse for content even on proprietary storage media and system environments like Avid ISIS® and Interplay® as well as create playlists.
Niklas Fabian, Product Manager Broadcast Solutions at Rohde & Schwarz DVS: "With our VENICE ingest and production server, our aim is to set new benchmarks in studio production and support broadcasters in organizing existing workflows even more efficiently. In this respect, our new VENICE Play GUI is revolutionary. For example, never before has it been so easy to understand a complex studio playout application at a glance. With its clear layout and design as well as pioneering functions, the GUI is perfect for hectic live operation."
