Latin American consumers exhibit marked demand for personalized access to all forms of entertainment, specifically binge-viewing, time-shifting, and multiscreening. This trend is validated by ARRIS's 2014 Consumer Entertainment Index (CEI), which surveyed viewing habits in 19 markets, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico.
- 95% watch broadcast TV each week, with 80% watching at least 1-5 hours
- 87% binge watch content, with one in four 25-34 year olds doing so at least once a day
- 59% download or record TV programs to skip the ads, but 28% used second screen devices to purchase products related to the program they were watching
Broadly, this paints a picture of a quickly changing media consumption landscape with tremendous implications for Latin American service providers.
