Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 18, 2014
The elmspring accelerator, a new seed-stage technology accelerator for real estate tech startups, selected Chicago startup Appoet as one of three participants in its inaugural program. The elmspring accelerator is held in partnership with 1871, Chicagos premier entrepreneurial hub for digital startups.
Appoets unique platform fuses traditional humanities concepts with web and mobile technology. Appoets GPS-enabled magazine Infused typifies Appoets use of content management to enable hyper-local broadcasting and discoverability. While primarily focused on the publication of mobile applications for literature, art and music, Appoet is taking advantage of the elmspring accelerator to expand its utility for businesses and institutions.
We are excited to be a part of Appoets story, says elmsprings Kim Kleeman. This isnt about adding a new capability for realtors and other businesses. Its about invigorating the entire digital landscape with the creative discovery process that happens in the real world.
Founded by CEO Josh Fisher and CTO Jeremy Applebaum, Appoet describes itself as a rich and colorful startup dedicated to furthering the mission of mobile media. Appoet is working to extend the concepts pioneered in apps like Infused to real estate and other markets. Imagine searching on foot for local real estate listings and encountering topical and interactive information about local neighborhoods, schools, art and entertainment.
According to Fisher, The elmspring accelerator is going to give us some much-needed business discipline to bring these tools to a wider audience. Why should searching for a home be mundane when the world is so alive? Ultimately, Appoet is about allowing people to dream and discover. Working with elmspring is going to help us better understand how to make this work for businesses and institutions.
The elmspring accelerator program provides promising start-ups like Appoet with seed capital, mentorship, and access to the individuals and resources they need to prepare for market. Kleeman continues, Appoet doesnt just have a unique concept and great capabilities but also a great team. By exposing Josh and Jeremy to a wide range of business leaders, developers, marketers, investors and others, the elmspring accelerator is going to help Appoet bring truly interactive experiences to digital media.
