According to a report the British Broadcasting Company will slash 500 jobs from its news department as well as dozens from its radio division. The cuts would represent around 6 percent of the entire news force for Britain's state media outlet, a move that could escalate tensions that have already emerged between management and the union. Relations between the BBC's union employees and the organization's administration have been strained. The media outlet has embarked on a multi-year effort, called Delivering Quality First, in an attempt to cut costs.
