Pawleys Island Police Department joins forces with NDI Recognition Systems to keep their community safe.

Pawleys Island, South Carolina (PRWEB) May 29, 2014

NDI-RS is pleased to announce that Pawleys Island Police Department, South Carolina is the newest member to our rapidly growing family. Pawleys Island Police Department, while a small agency, is very forward-thinking when it comes to technology. After much research, the department choose to join forces with NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) to supplement their security initiatives. The department invested in four state-of-the-art static automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras and will be leveraging NDI-RSs relationship with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). SLED maintains a statewide license plate data system using NDI-RSs back-office software, the Vehicle Intelligence Server and Communications Engine (VISCE). This centralized hub for South Carolina ALPR users means that the Pawleys Island Police Department is not required to purchase or maintain a server to handle their ALPR data.

In addition to fixed ALPR systems like those implemented by the Pawleys Island Police Department, NDI-RS also offers a full range of other types of ALPR solutions, such as mobile systems installed in vehicles and covert systems that are ideal for checkpoint operations and other temporary ALPR deployments. Data from any NDI-RS system is transmitted to the VISCE central back office. The data can be analyzed to identify suspect vehicles, detect crime patterns and trends, and alert command staff and officers to vehicles of interest, such as those involved in AMBER and Silver Alerts.

We are happy to welcome the Pawleys Island Police Department to the rapidly growing group of NDI-RS customers in South Carolina, said Christopher McKissick, director of sales. Our relationship with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division allows us to provide a unique level of service to our customers in that state, and we look forward to helping the Pawleys Island Police Department protect their communities.
