EMA Signs Commercial & Music Video Director Shane Drake

Because EMA is a commercial, television and feature film production company; Drake says the move to EMA was a natural evolution for his career. He explains: "I'm very excited to be with the EMA team. Andrew and Lee come from a similar background as I do; and have experience in helping artists such as myself reach new heights in their directing achievements. Currently, music videos are providing a steady stream of work, as well as a great deal of recognition from my peers. While I will always love shooting music videos, I am looking forward to molding my commercial career with the EMA team, and eventually my feature film career as well."

Spanning the genres of Pop, Rock, Rap and Country, Shane Drake has directed videos for many of music's brightest stars including Timbaland, Paramore, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, Fall Out Boy, Flo Rida, Will.i.am, Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Daughtry and many more. Shane has also helped shape the original visual styles for new bands that have gone onto see great success, the most notable of these acts being Panic! At The Disco. Since the band's inception, Shane's work with them has earned several VMA nominations and won "Video of the Year"for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies."Shane went on to win an ACM "Video of the Year"Award for his groundbreaking video for country artist Little Big Town for their track "Tornado."Shane has also received significant attention for his commercial and branded work. He directed the entire Ford "on air"music video/spots that aired for four seasons on "American Idol,"and during the seasons Drake participated, Ford boasted its largest numbers since the show's inception. This, in turn, led the agency to hire Shane to direct a Lincoln commercial for the Grammy Awards. Since then, Shane has directed many more commercials, a short based on the graphic novel "The Dead & The Dying"and most recently, in April 2014, won "Video of the Year"for Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban's emotional song "Highway Don't Care"at the ACM Awards.
Founded by President & CEO Lee Nelson in 2002, EMA is a film, television and commercial production company based at Paramount Studios in Hollywood, California. EMA financed and produced "CHAINED,"directed by Jennifer Lynch and starring Vincent D'Onofrio, who won Best Actor at the Sitges International Film festival, and "CELESTE & JESSE FOREVER,"directed by Lee Toland Krieger, and starring Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg, Elijah Wood, Emma Roberts and Will McCormack. Sony Pictures Classics released the film theatrically in August of 2012, and the film received a coveted Independent Spirit Award Nomination for "Best First Screenplay"
EMA's newest feature film is "FREEZER,"an action/thriller starring Dylan McDermott, which shot in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and was released domestically in January 2014 by Anchor Bay. Mikael Salomon directed from a script by Tom Doganoglu and Shane Weisfeld. The company is currently prepping "COOK,"a drama, which will shoot in New Orleans.
