The Collaboratory and ART Network at Ringling College of Art and Design Create Entertaining Viral Video Campaign to Showcase Biolifes WoundSeal Product

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) May 04, 2014

The Collaboratory and ART Network at Ringling College of Art and Design partnered with Biolife this spring to create six promo spots featuring creative, entertaining uses of WoundSeal, the innovative first aid product that stops bleeding through the creation of an instant scab/seal. Entries can be viewed at Woundseal.com. Student videos that secure the most likes by May 31 will receive scholarship prizes from Biolife totaling $3,500.

The Collaboratory an initiative partner of The Patterson Foundation worked with Biolife to incorporate this pilot project into ART Networks 2014 spring semester class curriculum, which is a multidisciplinary elective. Working in a real-world, studio environment, the student team served as Biolifes advertising agency, writing, directing, editing and producing their 30-second commercials. This project was a tremendous opportunity for our students many of whom had no prior experience in television commercial production, explained faculty facilitator and course instructor Lisa Moody. Our 4-person team worked with the client to conceive of six diverse stories, all to broaden the exposure of WoundSeal and to add humor to a serious issue, Moody explained.

With the best visual arts college in the country located in our backyard, we were excited to team with Ringlings faculty and students on short films to connect with consumers online and to further raise awareness of WoundSeal, said Andrew McFall, vice president of BioLife. Bleeding can be a real nuisance and create a stressful situation. While WoundSeal provides a unique solution, we wanted to share our valuable message in an entertaining way to broaden our exposure in the market, while educating the community at the same time.

Associate Vice President for Collaborative Enterprises Cynthia Gravino, who oversees client-based projects of The Collaboratory, was delighted with the results of the Biolife/WoundSeal project. The exposure our students received to real-world business issues during this project was an incredible learning experience for them all. Since this project was part of our pilot phase of The Collaboratory, we could not have been more pleased with the students performance. They exceeded our expectations in discovering the clients needs, and were able to take a serious subject and have fun explaining it in more down-to-earth terms, Gravino said.

We hope the messages our students produced through this video contest will resonate with WoundSeals current customers and assist in exposing the Company to a whole new market and customer base.

The Collaboratory will continue onto the second phase of the Biolife project in Fall 2014, to create promo spots running up to two minutes.
