EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ticket Down announces that they have drastically reduced pricing on all 2014 Super Bowl Tickets. The XLVIII Super Bowl is between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ.
The culmination of hundreds of hour of practice and training is going to be upon us as Super Bowl XLVIII will be held on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014. The game will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., marking the first time since 2006 the game was held in a city with an average lower than 50 degrees. The two teams meeting in the big game this year are the two teams that were consistently the best throughout the regular season, the National Football Conference's Seattle Seahawks and the American Football Conference's Denver Broncos.
The Seahawks were the top seed in the NFC after going 13-3 in the regular season. They won the NFC West by one game over the San Francisco 49ers and reached the Super Bowl after knocking off the New Orleans Saints (23-15) and 49ers (23-17). The team was led throughout the regular season by Russell Wilson, who threw for 3,357 yards and 26 touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 539 yards and four touchdowns. On the ground, the team was led by Marshawn Lynch, the man who made the term "beast mode" relevant several years ago.
In a rare twist of fate, this year's Super Bowl will feature two west coast teams, this time with the Peyton Manning-led Broncos. Denver also finished the regular season with a 13-3 record, earning the No. 1 seed in their conference. To advance to the championship game, Denver defeated their division rival San Diego Chargers (24-17) and New England Patriots (26-16). The greatest offense the NFL has ever seen was led by Manning and his numerous records. He threw for 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns, both NFL highs. On the ground, Knowshon Moreno rushed for more than 1,000 yards with 10 touchdowns, as well as 60 catches and three additional scores. Four receivers caught at least 10 touchdown catches including Demaryius Thomas (14), Eric Decker (11), Julius Thomas (12) and Wes Welker (10).
Since the final second ticked off the clock on "Championship Sunday," most of the talk around the league has been about Richard Sherman and his post-game interview with Fox reporter, Erin Andrews. While the initial feeling amongst most fans was that Sherman was a bad guy, but as more information came out regarding his background and his character, many fans are eager to watch the best cornerback in the sport compete against the greatest offense the sport has ever seen. Whether he can shut down Manning and any one of his five huge offensive weapons on Sunday remains to be seen, but if there was a player that could stop one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, it is Sherman.
MetLife Stadium is the home of the New York Giants and New York Jets. The facility opened in 2010 and can seat more than 82,000 fans on a normal Sunday. The stadium has been home to many other big sporting events and concerts including World Wrestling Entertainment's WrestleMania 29 and Taylor Swift's "Red" tour.
