Dragonfly Unveiled: John Casablancas's Secret Society

January 28, 2014 --

NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2014 PRNewswire-iReach/ -- It is not often that we come across a story that combines mystery, an elite secret society, global sexual escapades and a collection of letters that provide readers a fictional peek at the life in the fast lane of John Casablancas, the supermodel and fashion mogul. The first impression the reader experiences reading this fictional novel is an instant comparison with the sexual electricity and intrigue of "Eyes Wide Shut", the moral struggles and boldness of "Mad Men", and the audacity, friendships and decisions that rival with many of the themes of "Wolf of Wall Street." Yet this compilation of short stories about what could be... but isn't quite... is unique on its own as the reader is challenged in every page to question what is real, what is fictional and what secrets did the model mastermind reveal to his friend of thirty years.

After writing six successful business books, including an international best seller published by McGraw-Hill in over 11 languages titled "You Have 3 Minutes! foreword by Donald J Trump", Ricardo Bellino has embarked upon writing his first work of fiction, "Dragonfly: The Fantastical Secret Society of John Casablancas" (working titile).

Dragonfly Unveiled: John Casablancas's Secret Society

Ricardo Bellino, a Brazilian serial entrepreneur living in the US from the past 7 years, became John Casablancas' closest confidante almost 30 years ago when they formed a partnership in Elite Models Brazil in what can be best described as a surreal, fairy tale business story. Bellino was 20 years old when he met Casablancas for the first time after traveling to New York on ten occasions as a DHL courier, a job which was an excuse for the sole purpose of pitching the model mogul with his idea of opening a branch of Elite in Brazil. Bellino succeeded, and the story began...

The concept for the book was inspired by a series of letters that were kept secret and only revealed upon Casablancas' death spanning over 55 years that Casablancas supposedly wrote to a woman that, at the tender age of sixteen, allegedly taught Casablancas many of the life lessons men learn or should learn over their lifetime, a woman apparently so central in his life that the novel reveals he kept in touch until he passed away in July 2013 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As these letters are fantastical in nature, the stories in the book will leave the reader wondering where reality ends and fiction begins.

The book brings to life "Dragonfly", a secret society supposedly created during the hedonistic era of the 70's. Dragonfly Society's annual parties were decadent, mysterious affairs taking place in exotic locations where none of the guests knew the identity of the other. Bound to secrecy about the Society's existence, members' identities were cloaked behind jewel-encrusted masks while they set off on a psychedelic trip of sexual exploration taking them to places that people only dream about, dreams that we never reveal. But these parties are only an excuse for other needs in life, leaving the reader wondering about decisions made in the past, and how to live life in the future. The book will challenge your moral compass, your decisions, and your intellect, as you will be in an almost desperate state to learn what parts are novel and which are in fact, true, if any...
