MakerWear Launches Nationwide Search For First Ever Face Of The Revolution
January 20, 2014 --
Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) January 20, 2014
In October 2013, MakerWear became the first curated crowd sourced fashion label in history. And to promote their arrival on-scene and the empowering maker movement it embodies, MakerWear is searching for the face to match.
The first-ever MakerWear 'Face of the Revolution' model search will reward one lucky maker with a custom photo shoot with the Block Agency in Nashville, a high-profile gig as the face of the MakerWear label, and $1,000 Target gift card to fuel their passion.
Were looking for the maker who has it all shes clever, shes passionate, and she relentlessly commits bad ass makery, says Neil Kohler, CEO of the MakerWear line. She can code, tag, film, ink. We want the Face of the Revolution to truly embody the soul of the revolution.
MakerWear, the very first all curated crowd sourced fashion label of its kind, has catapulted the maker movement into the mainstream by debuting its unique line of maker-made hats at Target.
To enter the contest and join the revolution, all makers need to do is throw on a new MakerWear hat, take a quick selfie, describe their work, and hit submit. A panel of vetted MakerWear tastemakers will weigh in on the decision; fans will vote on their favorites, too. In the end, only one lucky maker will be chosen as the Face of the Revolution.
Curated crowd sourcing for the 'Face of the Revolution' allows us to whittle it down to the best of the best but then let the fans decide, adds Kohler. We knew that she had to be picked using the same exact process we use to choose our hats. Thats our tagline: Powered by the people.
Its a fashionably democratic notion that MakerWear believes the world is ready for. A decade ago, iTunes broke down the music industry. A year ago, Uber broke up the cab system. And, MakerWear and its Face of the Revolution are poised to be the ones to revolutionize traditional fashion.
Whos to say only the best ideas come from industry insiders? Given the right opportunity, unexpected brilliance rises to the top, says Kohler
