October 31, 2013 --
Johannesburg, South Africa (PRWEB) October 31, 2013
VideoPropulsion® Interactive Television (OTC:VPTV) is pleased to announce its FloodGate® hospitality digital television headend systems are now being deployed in hotels in Africa. The company has delivered both IPTV and RF equipment to provide high definition programming secured by Pro:Idiom®, an International hospitality digital content encryption standard.
South African operator Pro-Digital selected the FloodGate FG-4220S to deliver a high definition IPTV system for the Hotel Verde in Cape Town, South Africa (http://hotelverde.com/). The system is currently delivering 32 channels and is expandable to accommodate more HD programming as it becomes available. Pro-Digital has also chosen the FloodGate FG-4110KA model to deliver 11 HD and 25 SD channels over coax for the De Hoek Country Hotel in Magaliesburg, South Africa (http://www.dehoek.com/). The FG-4110KA takes programming input via IP multicast from a satellite source, encrypts the programming in Pro:Idiom, then multiplexes and modulates the signals using DVB-C Annex A QAM on the hotels standard coax cabling.
"VideoPropulsions FloodGate has enabled us to provide flexible solutions for delivering high definition digital television programming to hotels across Africa," said Joe Cruz, Founder and President of Pro-Digital. "We are pleased with the performance of the systems, and VideoPropulsions support for our efforts has been outstanding. We are excited about being able to deliver a reliable and secure HDTV solution into the hospitality markets as HD content increases in Africa."
"We are very pleased to be working with Pro-Digital to deliver HDTV securely to hotels in Africa, using our FloodGate® family of digital television headend appliances", said Carl Pick, Founder and CEO at VideoPropulsion. "Joe Cruz and his team are the first to deploy this technology on the continent of Africa, and we look forward to further expanding this and other International markets in the future."
