Denver, CO (PRWEB) September 19, 2013
CereScan Corp., a Denver-based diagnostic brain imaging company that helps physicians diagnose many complex conditions such as brain injuries, learning disabilities, mental illness and memory loss, reached an agreement with noted traumatic and toxic brain injury expert, Gregory Hipskind, MD, PhD, to expand his role with the company.
"I am extremely pleased to be more closely associated with CereScan. The company's cutting edge technology and expertise clearly improves the referring clinicians diagnostic accuracy. This allows for better treatments for those individuals and families whose brain disorders are not currently being adequately treated. In my experience, the integrity of their approach in their mission surpasses all others in this field," adds Dr. Hipskind.
Dr. Hipskind is a nationally recognized expert in using SPECT brain imaging to evaluate traumatic and toxic brain injuries, including carbon monoxide poisoning. In 2008, he published a chapter in the medical text book, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, entitled Recent Advances in Brain SPECT Imaging after Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. He frequently consults with clinicians and attorneys of patients with brain injuries throughout the U.S. A residency-trained family physician, Dr. Hipskind is a certified nuclear neurologist who is also certified by the American Academy of Brain Injury Specialists as a brain injury specialist. Since 2003, Dr. Hipskind has interpreted over 4,000 SPECT brain scans and is a member of the New York Academy of Traumatic Brain Injury Association of America, the Colorado Brain Injury Association and the Brain Injury Association of America.
As the former owner of Hipskind Brain Imaging & Consulting, Dr. Hipskind combined his business with CereScan in 2010. In his current role, Dr. Hipskind will continue to interpret the scans for patients and consult with their physicians, and provide expert testimony and other services for patients involved in brain injury litigation. Additionally, Dr. Hipskind will attend industry functions, provide collaborative presentations to medical practitioners and the legal community, and consult with CereScan on a wide array of complex process development opportunities.
Further integration of Dr. Hipskinds expertise in the complex brain disorder landscape continues our mission to be one of the premier providers of objective, fact-based, brain analysis for both clinicians and attorneys, nationwide, said John Kelley, Chairman and CEO of CereScan.
