Starfish Technologies, a UK company leading the field in subtitling and audio description software for international broadcasters, will introduce a new standalone splicing technology at IBC. This new technology enhances the existing capability for broadcasters to regionalise their content - boosting revenue from local advertising and building brand.
Starfish Regional Insertion Systems - employed, for example, by TV2 in Sweden to regionalise content into 25 locations - is widely regarded. Now, with new standalone software, broadcasters will be able to mimic that flexibility by breaking into traditional transport streams with frame accurate transcoded material using affordable generic IT software.
Enabling transport stream processing to be easily adopted in a hitherto unaffordable manner, Starfish is making core software available to enterprises not currently employing end-to end Regional Insertion Systems.
