March 12, 2013 --
REDWOOD CITY, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2013
International Media Distribution (IMD) and ABS-CBN International, the largest and leading Filipino news and entertainment multimedia company in the U.S., announced today that Filipino Movies On Demand has launched on Verizon FiOS TV as an a la carte option.
Verizon already offers The Filipino Channel (TFC) and its companion VOD service to FiOS TV subscribers giving unlimited access to a variety of entertainment choices from ABS-CBN. Starting this month, Filipino movie titles can be ordered on an individual basis through FiOS TV Video On Demand. Four titles are available each month with two new titles being added each month.
Filipinos love Tagalog movies as these remind them of home, so we always find ways and means by which we can make worthwhile Filipino films of various genres available for them to view on demand, said Jun Del Rosario, ABS-CBN Internationals Marketing Head for North America. We hope that Filipino Movies On Demand will delight Verizon FiOS TVs Filipino subscribers, whether they are TFC subscribers or not.
From now until April 30, the lineup includes Star Cinemas Every Breath You Take, starring Piolo Pascual and Angelica Panganiban, Philippine showbizs Ultimate Heartthrob and Hottest Versatile Actress, respectively. This romantic comedy is directed by Mae Cruz who has helmed box-office hits with the biggest Filipino stars.
Also in the lineup for the month is Regal Films The Mommy Returns, a family horror-comedy film starring top film, TV and concert comedienne Pokwang, dramatic lead actor Gabby Concepcion (doing a rare comedy role), glamorous actress-host-beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez, joined by child actors Jillian Ward, Kiray Celis, and Gerald Pesigan, and veteran actors Gloria Diaz and John Lapus. At the helm is award-winning director Joel Lamangan.
Two more titles will become available on April 1: the romance Born to Love You starring Angeline Qunito, in her acting debut, and Coco Martin, and the award winning Manila Kingpin, starring Jeorge ER Estregen and Carla Abellana.
FiOS TV customers can order these movies directly from their remote control by going to the Movies folder and searching By Genre > All > International > Filipino.
