New Product Delivers Efficient Multi-Channel/Multi-Screen Video Encoding For TV Broadcasters
February 22, 2013 --
San Carlos, CA (PRWEB) February 22, 2013
Transparent Video Systems, Inc. (TVS), a leading provider of complete CATV headend systems, today announced the launch of its new EN-48 transcoder product which provides multiple encoding and transport solutions for both independent and large television broadcast companies.
The TVS EN-48 encoder allows up to 48 transcoded channels in a single 1 RU chassis. It is ideal for multi-screen encoding where resolution requirements range from high-definition to smart phone. Also, off-air channel encoding may be too much for CPUs of legacy HD-DVR, IPTV set-top boxes. The EN-48 transcodes these channels, allowing the set-tops to record and stream multiple programs. Efficient compression is another highlight of this device. Finally, the transcoder can serve as a way to use the public Internet for signal transport which is a huge cost-savings over traditional satellite and fixed bandwidth techniques. The same encoders allow for transcoding to lower-bit rate profiles for the support of tablets, smart phones and PCs at a cost point that is 1/5th the cost of comparable encoders.
Were excited about the launch of our newest EN-48 transcoder product which offers CATV providers with so many solutions at such a low cost, said Norman Gillaspie, President and CEO of Transparent Video Systems, Inc. With so many devices that have different transport and encoding requirements, our multi-use device is cutting-edge technology which can accommodate just about any transcoding needs.
