Jefferson Parish, LA Launches Website Inspired by Citizens

January 04, 2013 --

Jefferson Parish, LA (PRWEB) January 04, 2013

Jefferson Parish, Louisiana is proud to announce the launch of its redesigned government website. Now live at http://www.jeffparish.net, the website boasts new interactive features, more online services, and a truly unique design.

Every aspect of the sites dynamic homepage was designed to easily inform, share, and link citizens to important information and convenient online services.

The citizens of Jefferson Parish were our main focus when redesigning the website, noted Public Information Officer Kriss Fortunato. Their needs took precedence throughout the entire project. We worked hard to make sure the design, layout, and features of the new site would make their lives easier.

Prominently displayed homepage buttons link directly to updates on local weather and current traffic reports, live streaming video of Jeffersons public access channel - JPTV, and the always-popular service request section.

The latest news stories and upcoming events are streamed directly to the homepage. Meanwhile, the Important Information menu immediately links citizens to the sites most popular pages.

The site navigation structure was simplified with the use of dropdown menus, interior left-side navigation, quick links, and a powerful toolbar. An I Want To option in the main navigation funnels all citizen-focused services into one easy-to-find dropdown menu.

Other useful features found within the site include online tax and utility payments, current job postings, department directories, and a video tour book.

The new website is powered by an industry-leading government content management system created by Vision Internet. This powerful, yet easy-to-use CMS allows Parish staff members to make updates to the site without needing a technical background.

Partnering with Vision Internet on this project provided us immediate access to 16 years of expertise on government website best practices, stated Fortunato. The Vision CMS effectively allows us to provide better online services and more timely information to the community.
