Through witty observations, amusing anecdotes, and brilliant punch lines, comedians at this annual show have left Wolf Trap audiences roaring with laughter for almost 30 years.
Murray Langston is known for performing both as himself and as The Unknown Comic, a character that appears with a paper bag over his head, known for being a frenetic speed jokester in smarmy attire whom Langston created while guest starring on The Gong Show. Langston has been in the comedy business for more than four decades, first appearing of Rowan & Martins Laugh-In in 1970. Since then, he has been featured on shows like The Midnight Special, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, The Hudson Brothers, Razzle Dazzle Show, The Wolfman Jack Show, and The Bobby Vinton Show. He also had the privilege of working with comedic idols like Redd Foxx, Joan Rivers, Jim Carrey, Ruth Buzzi, and many others.
Brett Leake performed as a standup comedian from 1983 until 1997, when he became a sit-down standup comedian due to a condition called facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy. Leake continues to tour, working as both a comic and a motivational speaker who uses humor as a problem solving tactic and a way to appreciate life. He has had the opportunity to perform at the Smithsonian, the Kennedy Center, and previously at Wolf Trap. Leake has also appeared on Entertainment Tonight, the American Comedy Awards, and on NBCs The Tonight Show, on which he was the first comedian with a physical disability to perform.
Dave Goldstein is a comedian who has been praised for his original writing and live comedic riffs. His standup routines have been featured on The Comedy Network, Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, The National Lampoon Radio Network, and Comedy.net. Goldstein is also known for playing the role of a naked cop directing traffic outside of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on NBCs Late Night with Conan OBrien, as well as a role in commercials for Sprint, New England Bank, ABC Sports, and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals.
