RadioCentre continues long-term partnership with Sohonet with connectivity installation at its new London offices

Sohonet installs high-speed Internet solution at the radio industry body`s purpose-built offices in New Oxford Street

DMN Newswire--2011-12-6--Sohonet (www.sohonet.com), the global expert in connectivity and data management for the media and entertainment industry, is pleased to announce that its long-term partnership with RadioCentre continues with the installation of a 10Mbit/s Internet connection at the UK commercial radio industry bodys new, purpose-built offices at 55 New Oxford Street in London.

RadioCentre and its partner organisations, which include the RAB (Radio Advertising Bureau), RACC (Radio Advertising Clearance Centre), Digital Radio UK, Radio Player (responsible for a cross-industry initiatives to standardise player format and meta-data) and the Radio Academy has significantly invested in the design and build of its bright, new offices.

RadioCentres Technology Manager, Neil Dawson, comments: ?The level of service we get from Sohonet is second to none. We have been using its connectivity solutions since 2009 when Sohonet rapidly installed a service within a three-day period. No other providers could offer anything for three months. We have experienced zero downtime since partnering with Sohonet and are so confident with our Internet infrastructure that we took the decision to host our client-facing RACC web application in-house, rather than farm the responsibility out to someone externally, which was the original plan.

RadioCentre represents commercial radio groups and stations from rural, small-scale ventures to household names serving major metropolitan areas. Its member stations represent 90 per cent of all UK commercial radio listening.

The organisation works with a range of stakeholders for the greater benefit of commercial radio lobbying on the industrys behalf with government, Ofcom and policy makers and raising the industrys profile across the UK.
