NDI Recognition Systems Announces Newest Customer: Eatonville Police Department
February 01, 2014 --
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) February 01, 2014
NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) is pleased to announce its newest customer in the State of Florida, the Eatonville Police Department. The Eatonville PD has chosen NDI-RS to supply a mobile automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) system that will be installed on one of the departments vehicles.
The Eatonville PD will rely on the Seminole County Sheriffs Office Regional Shared ALPR system to provide access to license plate data. The shared system allows smaller law enforcement agencies to purchase ALPR systems at a lower cost, since they do not need to purchase servers or back-office software. Other regional agencies hosted on Seminole Countys shared system include the Longwood Police Department, the Altamonte Springs Police Department, and the Winter Park Police Department.
NDI Recognition Systems is happy to welcome the historic town of Eatonville as one of our customers, said Christopher McKissick, director of sales. The Eatonville Police Department is joining a growing community of license plate recognition customers in Central Florida who are able to take advantage of the Seminole County Sheriffs Office Regional Shared ALPR system. By pooling knowledge and resources, these law enforcement agencies are better able to protect the citizens of Central Florida, and NDI-RS is proud to support this community initiative.
The historic town of Eatonville, founded in 1887, was the first municipality in the United States to be incorporated by African-Americans. The town is home to some 2,000 residents, and contains 48 historic buildings related to both the towns founding and its most famous former resident, the author Zora Neale Hurston. Each year the town hosts a festival in honor of Hurston, drawing visitors from across the United States and around the world.
