Integrated Microwave Technologies, LLC (IMT), a Business Unit within the Vitec Group's Videocom Division, and a leader in advanced digital microwave systems for MAG (Military, Aerospace & Government) markets, introduces its DropCam (DTx) COFDM Video Surveillance Kit at Border Security Expo 2013 (Booth 416).
IMT's DTx Video Surveillance Kit incorporates the company's DTx COFDM transmitter, with a rechargeable battery, camera, infrared LED and microphone, and a handheld receiver/monitor, in a compact, rugged chassis. This convenient package is ideal for rapid deployment and tactical surveillance scenarios. Combined with a light-level-sensor-controlled infrared LED, the low-light camera enables surveillance in all light conditions. Users can remove the camera head and position it separately using the four-foot camera cable, allowing for more discreet concealment of the camera.
"When it comes to responding to border threats, situational awareness and intelligence are critically important, and IMT's DTx video surveillance kit not only offers the best video quality for surveillance monitoring, but also allows for the real-time exchange of critical information," says Integrated Microwave Technologies Divisional Chief Executive Stephen Shpock. "This reliable, portable, easy-to-use transmitter/receiver/monitor kit provides unequaled value in the field."
The DTx is designed for such mission types as rapid tactical surveillance and room clearance, as well as inspections of remote locations, including pipes, basements, attics and small robotics platforms. It uses COFDM digital RF transmission technology to ensure superior non-line-of-sight performance in buildings, culverts and urban environments, providing a level of performance that is unattainable with conventional analog or 802.11 (WiFi) products. The integrated rechargeable battery will power the transmitter for up to four hours and can be recharged in three hours using the AC adaptor provided in the kit.
Developed for portable viewing of transmitted video feeds, IMT's Mobile Viewer receiver/monitor rounds out the offering for a complete transmit/receive solution. Its dual-input COFDM diversity receiver with integrated antennas and a rechargeable battery is designed with an LCD and GUI for handheld operation. Mobile Viewer offers exceptional RF performance with superb H.264 or MPEG-2 decoding. The unit displays video on a built-in, nine-inch, 16:9-format high-brightness-resolution LCD display. The display also features an easy-to-use menu-driven interface designed with the user in mind. Much more than a COFDM handheld receiver, the Mobile Viewer can stream video over Ethernet to remote software or hardware decoders. This allows multiple remote viewers to monitor the same video simultaneously.
This complete DTx kit is designed for ease of operation, and allows operators to select between 16 preset channels by pressing a single button. Configuration of the presets is achieved using the USB control interface and PC software provided. Transmission security is ensured through the use of optional AES (BCRYPT) encryption, making it an ideal portable kit for applications ranging from border and public security monitoring to covert surveillance.
