Harmonic Promotes Alvaro Martin to Managing Director of Latin America Sales

Harmonic (NASDAQ: HLIT), the worldwide leader in video delivery infrastructure, today announced the promotion of Alvaro Martin to managing director of sales for Latin America. In this capacity, Martin will step up to lead the region's sales and presales teams and serve as part of Harmonic's worldwide sales leadership team.
"Alvaro has a great understanding of Latin American markets, the evolving technology requirements of broadcast, cable, satellite, and media enterprises throughout this region, and how Harmonic solutions can address customers' current and future needs," said George Stromeyer, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Harmonic. "Latin America represents a key growth area for Harmonic, and Alvaro has the knowledge, experience, and strong customer relationships to be a very successful sales team leader there."
Martin joined Harmonic in April 2011 and has led the company's sales teams in Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and northern South America. During his tenure, the company's business in these regions has grown significantly. Martin has more than 20 years of experience in sales and, prior to joining Harmonic, he held sales leadership roles with Cisco, Scientific Atlanta, and Lucent Technologies.
Martin is based in Mexico City and reports directly to Stromeyer.
