Green Building Professionals Assemble in NYC This Month to Discuss Incentive Programs for Commercial & Industrial Buildings in an Effort to Cut High Energy Costs

New York, NY (PRWEB) December 03, 2013

AGRION the global business network for energy, cleantech, and sustainability will hold a panel discussion in New York City on December 13th to address the biggest source of the nations inflated energy usage: commercial and industrial buildings. AGRION will bring together speakers from NYSERDA, DNV KEMA, Energy Tax Savers Inc., Brandywine Realty Trust, and the Economic Research Service (ERS), along with an audience of high-profile professionals from leading organizations to discuss the deployment of more energy efficient techniques in the building landscape.

After the Department of Energy revealed that the energy used by commercial and industrial buildings equated to 50% of the total energy used by the United States economy last year (an estimated $400 billion), business professionals across many verticals have begun to consider ways to cut down on their energy output, to minimize both costs and environmental impacts.

But whats standing in the way of widespread implementation is not a lack of sustainable resources or financing options, but lack of knowledge and awareness among property manager, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers alike. A continuously growing demand for energy has awakened the need to change the behavior of these individuals to adopt more efficient technologies and take advantage of financial incentives that are available for green buildings.

AGRION hopes to jumpstart this process of increasing consumer willingness by assembling the best and the brightest in the sustainability and green building industries for an interactive roundtable conversation. Topics of discussion will include emerging energy efficient technologies, data collection programs, available incentive, loan, and rebate options, and the pros and cons of different business models. For those who want to attend but are not located in the NY metro area, the option for live streaming is available. Registration and more details on the event can be found here.

Through weekly meetings in offices around the world, AGRION provides a platform for members to connect, exchange ideas, and identify business opportunities. AGRION members can determine critical business drivers, explore innovation, and realize sustainable growth in a world challenged by resource constraints, climate change, and evolving political landscapes.
