Futaris Lends a Hand in Celebrating the Anchorage Frontier Spirit
March 01, 2013 --
Anchorage, AK (PRWEB) March 01, 2013
Futaris, a premier communications provider, donates Mobile Radio equipment and personnel staff to assist in the 2013 Anchorage Iditarod. Every February the streets of Anchorage come alive with celebrations honoring local sports and culture, and this week, the 77-year-old tradition kicked off in high gear.
The weather conditions during these events can be extreme, and two-way radios offer a reliable method of communication. Futaris, formerly known as Alaska Telecom, is a trusted provider of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) services and is a Motorola Authorized Dealer. Event coordinators and security personnel will be utilizing the donated radios for communication and security purposes at both the start of the race in Anchorage and in Willow. Futaris has donated two-way radios and personnel staff to these events for the last several years, helping make the events more secure and a huge success.
We are honored to be able to donate our services and personnel to what has become an international phenomenon, states Futaris President and CEO, Dan Boone. Dan goes on to say, Futaris is proud to be involved in The Last Great Race On Earth as it is a great way for us to give back to our local community.
