Chicago Divorce Attorney Jeffery Leving Analyzes Latest Developments In Miami Dolphins Bullying Scandal
February 07, 2014 --
CHICAGO, Feb. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --Leading Chicago Fathers' Rights Attorney Jeffery Leving (http://dadsrights.com) will join host Mike North this Sunday, February 9th at 8:30 AM CST on Fox Sports Radio - XM 247 (NATIONAL) to discuss the latest developments in the Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin bullying scandal. Leving's analysis will also be broadcast nationally on iHeart radio.
In November 2013 Jonathan Martin, an offensive lineman with the Miami Dolphins, left the team amid allegations that teammate Richie Incognito subjected him to a torrent of bullying and racist behavior. Incognito's suspension for his involvement in the matter was just lifted this week.
More than 1000 text messages between Incognito and Martin have now been released, shedding light on the relationship between the two men. Many sources believe that the text messages reveal a friendship between the players. CBSSports.Com reports that since the text messages have been made public, "the idea that Martin was Incognito's innocent victim got tougher to believe. Instead, the messages made it seem that the two were close friends and that Martin playfully insulted Incognito just as much as Incognito insulted Martin."
This matter raises several complicated issues about what constitutes bullying, acceptable locker room behavior, and the media's rush to judgment.
Leving, who represents fathers in hotly contested family law matters notes, "False allegations of any kind can be devastating to an individual's reputation. When that person is a public figure or athlete, the consequence of those negative allegations may particularly damning - permanently affecting how they are viewed in the public eye. Additionally, fraudulent claims may diminish how seriously all allegations are evaluated, causing victims to lose necessary protections."
