AccentHealth and the American Cancer Society Partner to Deliver Cancer-Specific Education to Patients in Oncology Waiting Rooms
June 26, 2014 --
NEW YORK, June 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --AccentHealth, the nation's leading media network at the Point-of-Care, announced today it has entered into a strategic relationship with the American Cancer Society. The announcement follows the recent launch of the AccentHealth Oncology Network, which features CNN-produced television programming for cancer patients in the waiting room, as well as printed "health panels" with oncology-specific educational information.
The companies plan to jointly develop oncology-specific content that will be integrated into the AccentHealth Oncology Network patient education products.
"AccentHealth recognizes that there is an increasing need for patient education around disease management and supportive care for cancer patients," said John Curbishley, EVP, Business and Product Development for AccentHealth. "The growing financial and time pressures on oncologists make it more challenging for them to deliver critical information to their patients during diagnosis and treatment. Together, AccentHealth and the American Cancer Society can help by delivering trusted content that will educate and support cancer patients during this difficult time."
"We are pleased to collaborate with AccentHealth in our fight against cancer," said Chuck Westbrook, Managing Director, Content for the American Cancer Society. "Our work together provides us a great opportunity to reach more of our patients and meet their unique education needs by providing condition-specific content for AccentHealth's Oncology Network offices."
