Acano coCloud Simplifies the Transition to Cloud, Named "Best of Enterprise Connect" Finalist
Hybrid cloud architecture provides resource optimization and multi-tenancy capabilities to enterprises and service providers
March 18, 2014 --
LONDON and NEW YORK, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Today Acano announced Acano coCloud, an extension of the Acano Software-defined Infrastructure Solution. Acano coCloud enables flexibility of deployment and makes an organization's transition to cloud easy and more cost effective. This Software-defined Infrastructure provides all of the benefits of the cloud at drastically reduced bandwidth costs. Packaged with multi-tenancy and cobranding options, Acano coCloud allows service providers to customize hybrid deployment models for their customers. Acano has been named a "Best of Enterprise Connect" finalist for its introduction of Acano coCloud. The solution is already in deployment with Tier 1 service providers.
The Acano coCloud architecture allows for optimizing resource usage, reducing WAN traffic. Acano customers achieve cost savings by keeping traffic local; participants dial into their nearest conference instead of each calling into the cloud.
For example, consider five participants of a conference inside an enterprise meeting with five participants in other locations. With full cloud deployment, all 10 participants connect to the cloud. With Acano coCloud, the enterprise participants connect via LAN to an on-premise solution, which then connects to the cloud. The other five participants connect to the cloud from their locations. Instead of having five 1080p streams going out of the enterprise, there is now only one.
On-premise deployments are operated as one solution with the cloud. This architecture also improves resilience by having localand remote failover, as well as overflow capacity.
Acano coCloud provides complete deployment choice. Hybrid cloud deployments can be self-managed or outsourced to service providers. Acano coCloud can be created out of both VM-based instances of the Acano Solution and the purpose-built Acano Server for large-scale performance. Licenses are independent of this deployment choice and available in a "floating" model. All made possible through Acano's Software-defined Infrastructure Solution.
Acano coCloud supports unique service models, enabling server providers to create unique solutions for customers. Acano multi-tenancy features provide for detailed control of usage models. This capability is critical for service providers, and for large enterprises that manage and invoice by division/department. Acano coCloud takes advantage of cobranding capabilities; service providers can add a brand to personalize the Acano software interface.
"Acano coCloud is an extension of our proven and scalable Acano Software-defined Infrastructure Solution, enabling a service provider or an enterprise to provide tens of thousands of participants with high definition video conferencing as well as voice and web services," explains Jan Nielsen, Vice President of Products at Acano. "Acano coCloud is a response to the concerns we heard from every corner of the industry about cloud, virtualization and on-premise decisions. The is no longer a need for enterprises to compromise when executing a cloud strategy."
